Located in Mill No. 3 at the corner of Commercial and Pleasant Streets in the historic Amoskeag Millyard, their permanent exhibit, Woven in Time: 11,000 Years at Amoskeag Falls, traces from native people who fished at Amoskeag Falls 11,000 years ago through early farmers and lumbermen, and the beginnings of industry in the area. It covers the development of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company, one of the largest textile producing company in the world, employing over 17,000 people, including immigrants from many countries. The story continues into the 20th century, as innovative businesses flourish in the city and new groups of immigrants come to Manchester to start new lives.
The Millyard Museum also hosts the Discovery Gallery, a multi-purpose space used for school groups, family programs, lectures, temporary exhibits and other activities.
Note that the SEE Science Center is on the 4th floor of the same building.
Hours: Tuesday- Saturdays 10am-4pm (free to Manchester Historic Association members). Show your receipt from the Millyard Museum and get free admission to the Research Center.
Admission: Adults, $8; College and Seniors (62+) $6; Children 12-18 $4 and children under 12, free.
