Pontine Theatre cordially invites the public to visit Portsmouth’s newest cultural facility, the Plains School, located at #1 Plains Avenue. Built in 1845, the Plains School, educated students through 1942. The one-room brick school then hosted activities of the Girl Scouts and for many years was home to the Sons of Italy. In 2016, Pontine Theatre, began a collaboration with the City of Portsmouth to transform the Plains School into a center for arts, humanities, history, and culture. Renovations were recently completed and now Pontine offers a calendar of delightful Sunday afternoon events to be enjoyed this spring. Seating is limited and reservations are a must. Contact Pontine — info@pontine.org — to assure seats for the events of your choice. The Plains School is located at #1 Plains Avenue in Portsmouth. The space is fully accessible and there’s easy parking adjacent to the building.
