It’s interesting that many visitors don’t realize that New Hampshire’s tax free shopping applies to liquor purchases–an item that can be heavily taxed in other states. Not only that, but if you haven’t stopped in at the I-93 Hooksett rest area south of the toll booths that was totally revised and rebuilt, they did quite a nice job on the rebuilds so that going in either direction, it’s quite the attraction!
With a fun, upbeat atmosphere and restaurants plus interesting shopping that includes New Hampshire made products in all price ranges from car toys to objects d’art by New Hampshire League of NH Craftsmen artisans as well as the typical rest area conveniences, this is where you can make money-saving liquor purchases on your way into New Hampshire or on your way home but have a very enjoyable stop before leaving the Granite State as well. With a huge selection of liquors and liqueurs to choose from, it pays to stock up if driving home to a high sales tax state before crossing the border.
In addition to numerous stores throughout the state, the other “stop-before-border” is located on I-95, just south of the 101 for those visiting in the Seacoast. Great gifts!
